A few practical reminders for using The Classifieds carefully online and offline.
1. Your safety comes first
The Classifieds helps people connect, but you are responsible for your own decisions online and offline. Use your judgment, move at your own pace, and leave any situation that feels unsafe, pressured, or wrong.
2. Meet in public first
When meeting someone for the first time, choose a public place where other people are nearby. Avoid first meetings at homes, isolated places, private rooms, or anywhere you would have difficulty leaving.
3. Tell someone your plans
Tell a friend where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back. Consider sharing your location with someone you trust during a first meeting.
4. Protect financial information
Do not send money, gift cards, crypto, banking details, passwords, verification codes, or financial information to someone you meet through The Classifieds.
5. Protect personal details
Be careful with your address, phone number, workplace, school, daily routines, children's information, and other details that could be used to find or pressure you offline.
6. Slow down when pressured
Be cautious with rides, homes, isolated places, alcohol or drugs, sudden urgency, or pressure to move faster than you want. You do not owe anyone your time, location, body, money, or attention.
7. Use block and report
Use block or report if someone makes you uncomfortable, ignores boundaries, behaves aggressively, asks for money, sends unwanted explicit content, or pressures you to share information or meet.
8. Report serious concerns
If someone threatens you, harasses you, scams you, pressures you sexually, appears underage, impersonates someone, or uses the service in a harmful way, report them.
9. Immediate danger
If you are in immediate danger or believe someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or local authorities right away.
10. No background checks
Unless clearly stated otherwise, The Classifieds does not conduct background checks, identity verification, criminal screening, or in-person safety checks. We do not guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of any user.
